3d Artist – Full time

  • Worked closely with a small team of designers, illustrators and
programmers to create educational software for a variety of different
    industries and publishers.
  • Worked as an understudy to another 3d artist for 1 year then took over from him to become the only 3d artist within the company, meaning all 3d related projects, client enquires, possible deadlines and potential jobs had to be evaluated by myself.
  • When a project called for it I had to hire and negotiate pay with freelancers, briefing them and give them feedback on their work against the projects objectives and the objectives set by myself and make sure they hit the deadlines of the project.
  • When required I was asked to help out in other areas of product development, this included fixing and making changes to product interfaces, adjusting artwork for either print or digital use and occasionally helping out with administration and management tasks.
  • Had to help test our products at various stages of development, this included checking that bugs had been fixed against a pre supplied bug list and so called ‘destruction testing’ which involved trying to break the product or find and report new bugs.

About Me

My main interest is of course in art. I enjoy doing art work in my spare time, if fate allows it I try and attend a 'Life drawing' class every week, which im also using to try out different techneques and medias. I also constantly aim to be as good as I can be and this is something I hope I can achieve in the future by working with and around a team/teams of great and talented artists.

I enjoy playing video games and play all kinds of games. Flight simulators, shooters and strategy games being my favorite genres but will play just about anything as long as its fun and I have fun playing it.

Aside from art and video games I enjoy studying history, particularly all aspects of World War 2, the battles, the machines, the weaponry and the events that shaped the world in that era. Though World War 2 is my most enjoyable time period to study I enjoy looking at other aspects of history such as the Romans……this can be influenced by games I play, books I read and TV programs I watch.

Another pastime is going out and meeting fellow artists and networking with people that have a similar mind set and ambitions as me. This has taken me on a couple of trips to America where I met a whole bunch of video game developers from the Dallas area as well as the London area.

I also play golf and enjoy keeping up with the football over a beer.
